Scandinavian nature at its best
Just outside Oslo, on a hilly house plot with the forest as the nearest neighbour, lies this anarchitect-designed treasure, housing a family of three. The house is a modern interpretation of a classic saltbox house, forming a V-shape, which stretches from the private valley and up towards the hill with a stunning view over the fjord of Oslo.

On the first floor, nature has found its way in, by taking centre stage through the huge and wide windows. The floor is sanded concrete, and walls decorated with KC14, to bridge the outside and inside elements perfectly together. KC14 in the colour Pale Beach is the perfect cross over from the hard rocks outside, to the warm oak wood, moving throughout the house.

As the sunlight from the forest hits the KC14-wall, unique art is created differently every day. Nina describes it perfectly: “The soft and distinct structure makes you want to stroke the wall surface with your hand”.
Nina and her family had chosen all materials before the actual construction of the house started. They were sure that tactile materials would be essential, as the hilly plot was very much extended into the architectural planning. Knowing how challenging it could be to obtain plain surfaces with regular plaster, Nina was happily surprised to experience how easy the application of KC14 went.
